Trooper Brinkerhoff
4-12-25
The Race is dedicated to the memory of
NYS Trooper David Brinkerhoff
This year the Capital Bicycle Racing Club is teaming up with the Army Cycling Team to host an expanded Trooper David Brinkerhoff Memorial Race. In addition to the fields that we have typically run, we will be hosting racers from the Eastern Collegiate Cycling Conference (ECCC). To accommodate the additional racers, we will be running two waves of fields, one starting at 10 am and the second starting at 12 pm.
By expanding the fields, we are able to:
Run two separate women’s fields: a 4-lap (50 mile) race for P/1/2/3 riders and a 3-lap (38-mile) race for 4/5 riders.
Reinstate a two-lap (26 mile) race for Cat 5 (novice) and Collegiate D riders. This race had been run in the past but was eliminated when a women’s-only field was introduced.
Run dedicated races for Collegiate B/C and C/D riders.
In addition to the races, we are hosting a racing clinic at 9:00 am on the race course. The instructors will be Andy Ruiz and Benjamin Kramer. Andy has over 30 years of racing experience as a category 1-2 racer. He's a USA Cycling certified coach with his own coaching business. He is vice president of CBRC' and runs the club's Junior Development team, which comprises over 35 junior riders. He's the promoter of the Farmers Daughter Gravel Grinder and VP of Capital Bicycle racing club. Benjamin is a veteran of nineteen years of racing bikes, with over six hundred mass starts. From managing weekly training races to domestiquing teammates to multiple stage race races overall wins, Benjamin can share a thing or two having done a thing or two! The cost for the clinic is $10 for adults and $0 for juniors. Pre-registration is required.
Finally, we have heard the requests of Masters racers and will be posting separate results in the Masters 45+ and 55+ categories.

The Farmers Daughter
5-18-25
Now in it's 10th year, the Farmer's Daughter Gravel Grinder (FDGG) is “the must do spring cycling event in the Northeast.” To celebrate, we've added the Farmer's Granddaughter, a shortened route with no off-road sections! Regardless of which course you ride, you'll be treated to some of the most beautiful scenery in the Northeast, with plenty of climbing, and plenty of fun descents to match. Named after the Chatham Brewery’s Rye IPA born and brewed in Columbia County in beautiful upstate New York, the ride offers a truly grand tour of northern Columbia County and surrounding areas.
